“Fern gave one of the most insightful tours I have ever had in a new place. Not only did she share important historical information but also cultural practices and pointed out how they varied between Thai Buddhist and Chinese Buddhist spaces. The sites themselves are gorgeous but what made this tour special were the details Fern included, such as teaching me how to fold a flower into a lotus, sticking gold paper onto the Buddha, lighting incense and placing it correctly, showing me how people worship properly and why each step is taken. These details carried over into our time in China town. She had some great recommendations for food…”
